TEXT:
After such a nervous breakdown, I made a decision never to marry again, whatsoever. Even my inner Zuzana was shouting: "I would like to have a relationship!", the Brain was saying: "I'll never be happy! Never, never. I'll never fall in love again because it is always the same."
And so it seemed to be, until...
NEW COMPUTER, NEW LIFE
I am sitting at my new computer that I treated myself to a couple of days ago. It is the year 2005, I am trying to be as busy as I can, to completely forget that I am a woman, who actually needs love.
One of my students offered to help me with installing new software, including Skype.
"Can you tell me what Skype is? Why do I need it?", he, being young, ignored my question and just muttered between his teeth: "It is just another means of communication that will become very popular soon and you will be one of them to enjoy it."
Absolutely not, I was convinced in my head. Even I loved new things and despite the fact I have always been into brand new teaching books, I doubted this one.
LITTLE DID I KNOW HOW FAR I WAS FROM THE TRUTH
I am sitting at my new computer again, preparing some tests for my students, when a window of my newly installed Skype opens up:
" Hello there, how are you?". Shocked completely, I am staring at the screen. Who is that? I didn't want to reply. "Hello there, I would like to find a friend to talk to."
After about 15 minutes of silence, I started to be curious about who it was and I read the profile of the intruder. It was a man, aged 41, from Guernsey.
I had never heard of such a country before so I began my search and clicked on www.visitguernsey.com and was utterly surprised about what I was actually looking at. There, in front of me was a real paradise, the most beautiful island.
"Hello", I found myself typing, "sorry I was busy working, how are you? Can you tell me more about the place you live in?".
SO NEVER SAY NEVER
It is January 2017, I am nearly 49, again sitting at my computer. But, beside me, there is my husband Martin. Here I am, happily married.
Opposite, our beautiful Goldy Lock Johanna with whom I fell in love the minute I found out I was pregnant.
And there is more. On the floor, crawling and chatting his own language, is our 10-month old son Eliáš.
Who would have said that in 2005 that I would be living in a real paradise?
Never say Never but also NEVER LOSE HOPE.
Niečo o mojich milovaných modálnych slovesách.
Prečo ich tak milujem? Lebo sú
1. jednoduché na vytváranie.
2. Nemusím sa v nich zaoberať 3. os.j.č. ani tým, či sú
3. v čase prítomnom alebo budúcom, jednoducho stačí na konci vety pridať časový údaj (now, next week, on Monday).
A čo a ktoré sú tie modálne slovesá? Je ich celkom 9 a ľahko si ich zapamätáte v tejto kombinácii (nebudem hovoriť o opisných tvaroch)
CAN/ COULD WILL/WOULD SHALL/SHOULD MAY/MIGHT MUST
ČO MAJÚ SPOLOČNÉ?
1. sú rovnaké vo všetkých osobách - I can, she can, we can
2. ak je za nimi sloveso, napojí sa iba tak ako je - I can speak, she can read
3. v zápornej vete použijem iba CAN'T - I can't ride a horse
4. Otázku iba obrátim - Can you help? What can you do?
Na začiatok vás zoznámim is dvomi ŽIVOTNE DÔLEŽITÝMI MODÁLNYMI SLOVESAMI - CAN a WOULD.
Berte to ako prvú pomoc pre začiatočníkov ako sa naučiť o niečo požiadať.
Poďme sa na nich pozrieť, ako sa dajú využiť v praxi. Pomôžu mi, AKO VYJADRIŤ TO, ČO CHCEM, ALEBO TO, ČO CHCEM PO NIEKOM:
1. CAN YOU.......? ak niečo po niekom chceme
Príklady:
Can you open the window, please? Môžete otvoriť okno, prosím?
Can you come tomorrow? Môžete prísť zajtra?
Can you tell me about it? Môžete mi o tom povedať?
2. CAN I....? ak si pýtam povolenie niečo urobiť
Can I ask you a question? Môžem sa vás opýtať?
Can I have a coffee, please? Môžem dostať kávu?
Can I go home now? Môžem ísť teraz domov?
3. I WOULD LIKE TO..... rád/a by som
I would like to come later today. Rád by som dnes prišiel neskôr.
I would like to buy it next week. Rád by som to kúpil na budúci týždeň.
I would like to do it now. Rád by som to kúpil teraz.
.Viac drobností ako sa rozhovoriť a nestratiť pri cestovaní nájdete ebooku ZADARMO - PRVÁ POMOC V ANGLIČTINE
V texte používam tieto vety:
1. Can you tell me what Skype is? Môžeš mi povedať, čo ten Skype je?
Podobne môžete žiadať: CAN YOU TELL ME WHERE THE BANK IS? CAN YOU TELL ME WHEN THE SHOP OPENS? CAN YOU TELL ME WHERE CHRIS IS? CAN YOU TELL ME WHERE I CAN FIND THIS FILE?
2. I would like to find a friend to talk to. Rád by som našiel kamaráta, s ktorým by som si pokecal.
Podobne môžete povedať: I WOULD LIKE TO FIND THIS FILE. I WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK WITH HIM. I WOULD LIKE TO DO IT NOW. I WOULD LIKE TO EAT NOW. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT TOMORROW.
3. Can you tell me more about the place you live in? Môžeš mi povedať viac o mieste, kde bývaš?
Podobne môžete povedať: Can you tell me more about your job? Can you tell me more about the film? Can you tell me more about this concert? Can you tell me more about you?
